Q: Can I Fit a tracking unit myself?

A: No problem, we can let you have all the fitting instructions or we can supply a fitter for you.

Q: Can I rent a tracking unit for a short time?

A: Yes, we will rent you a unit for any length of time, contact rentals@competitivetracking.co.uk stating what you need to do and how long you will need it (returnable deposit would be required).

Q: Do you have a unit that doesn’t require any wiring

A: Yes, we have a battery powered unit that can be fitted into almost anything and will provide you the same tracking information as the wired unit. This unit has a battery which can last anything form 2 weeks to 5 years depending on the frequency of updates required.

Q: Do I need to pay a licence fee per user of the software e.g I have multiple PC’s in the office and I would need all my staff to have acsess.

A No, our software is absolutely free, even if you only have one unit you can have accsess on as many PC’s as you wish anywhere in the world.

Q: Do you have units that would monitor in a remote area?

A: We have many different units that can monitor, alert and report almost anything; please email technical@competitivetracking.co.uk with an explanation of what you want to monitor and we will get back to you with a solution.

Q: If I sell a vehicle do I need to keep paying the SIM and service charges.

A: If you do not need the data from the unit we can switch off the SIM and also the need to continue to pay the subscriptions. The SIM and payment can be restarted at any time too by emailing customerservices@competitivetracking.co.uk

Q: Do I have to sign a contract

A: Competitive tracking do not like contracts or leasing contracts, we totally rely on our customer service levels and competitive pricing to maintain our clients loyalty. There is no minimum or maximum contract whatsoever with any of our products.

Q: Is my tracking unit worth anything second hand?

A: Yes a fully functional tracking unit does have a second hand value to us, please email purchasing@competitivetracking.co.uk giving us the serial number of the unit.

Q Can Your unit determine who is driving the vehicle?

A: Yes we can provide a driver ID key which will determine who the driver is, the software can also be set to give reports on drivers as well as vehicles. we can also diferenciate between private and business mileage and can also hide the private information if required.

Q: Can your system record business and private mileage?

A: Yes using the driver id key we can report on both business & private mileage done in a period.

Q: Do you dump our data after a set period?

A: No, all the data is kept and accessible by the client for as long as they are customers

Q. Can you alert by text as well as email?

A: Yes, there are many alerts that can be set up on the system (almost anything), these can be alerted via Pop up box, text, email or all three.

Q: Can you provide an in cab panic Button?

A: Yes, the panic button can be set to send alerts to any or many if activated.

Q: Can I sell on my tracking unit to someone else if I sell the vehicle?

A: You are able to sell our unit with the vehicle if you wish but you must provide the customer with our details so that we can set them up with software access. Alternatively the unit can be deinstalled and reinstalled into your new vehicle and details changed within the software.

Q: What would happen to our service if Competitive Tracking ceased to trade?

A: We have covered all the aspects in this scenario and many others too; we have legal agreements with our manufacturers that guarantee continuation of our services to our clients in the event of this unlikely scenario. We also have comprhensive process’s in place to cover all our clients in the event of one of our suppliers ceasing to trade.

Q: Do you provide a service nationally and internationally too?

A: Yes we provide our service globally.

Q: What is your warranty policy?

A: All our units are covered by a 12 months warranty as standard (This also includes engineer call out charges if we have fitted the unit). Extended warranty up to 3 years is available if required at a small extra cost.

Q: How many years will the unit last?

A: We have had units working for 7 years now and still working fine, there are no moving parts in the unit so as long as they are kept dry there is no reason why they shouldn’t go on well beyond a decade.

Q: Can you supply us with a bespoke report?

A: Absolutly we can, we have access to all the incoming data and can bespoke any report you like.

Q: Is there a minimum or maximum number of tracking units you can supply

A: No, we can supply anything from One to Thousands.

Q: If I have say 10 vehicles, can I give vision of only one vehicle to a third party?

A: Yes, the whole software is user configurable so you can give access to any number of your assets to anyone you like, you are also able to choose the level of accsess you want to give them.

You will then be presented with a box asking you if you want to OPEN or SAVE this file, please click on OPEN and it will load up the program into your programs and will automatically launch.

All you need to do then is enter your company, user name and password in order to view your vehicles (you can have the software on as many PC’s as you wish).

The above will add the program to your program files but you will need to make a short cut icon for the desk top.
